Vikrant Massey’s sudden retirement announcement on December 1 has left fans saddened and stunned at the same time. In his Instagram post, 12th Fail actor Vikrant Massey revealed that now he wants to focus on playing the roles of a husband, father, and son as he has decided to stay away from acting in the coming future. Meanwhile, an old statement of the actor, in which he expressed concern for the safety of his 9-month-old son Vardaan, has re-surfaced on social media and gained people’s attention.

12th Fail actor Vikrant was recently seen in the film ‘The Sabarmati Report’ which features the Godhra train fire incident of 2002. During the promotion of the film, the actor shared his fears about himself and his family since the film was mired in controversy due to its sensitive subject. According to some of the media reports, during an interview, Vikrant revealed that he was receiving threats through social media in which his just 9-month-old son Vardan was targeted.

Expressing his fear for his family, Vikrant said, “I am getting threats on social media and WhatsApp. These people know that I have become a father 9 months ago. They are dragging my newborn son into this. I am worried for his safety. What kind of society are we living in? It is depressing, though not scary. If I was scared, we would not have made this film and brought it to the people.”

Let us tell you that the film ‘The Sabarmati Report’ stars Vikrant alongside Raashi Khanna and Riddhi Dogra and recreates the tragic incident of fire in the S-6 coach of the Sabarmati Express and the events that followed during the incident. Despite the controversies, it has received critical acclaim and was screened at the International Film Festival of India IFFI 2024, held in Goa. Recently, Union Home Minister Amit Shah also met the cast and praised the efforts of the film.
