The diva actress disclosed that she made the choice as a result of “medical complications.” The actress remained tight-lipped initially when her daughter was born. But soon after when she was featured in a magazine, Priyanka Chopra broke silence on ‘outsourcing her pregnancy’.

Through surrogacy, Priyanka Chopra gave birth to her first child in January 2022. Later on, the actress admitted that she and Nick Jonas had named her Malti. While many people rejoiced that Priyanka would soon become a mother, some teased her and said that she had ‘outsourced’ her pregnancy. In response to these trolls, The Desi Girl has stated that she chose surrogacy due of various medical issues.

Priyanka Chopra Revealed Reason For Opting ‘Surrogacy’

The British Vogue cover featuring Priyanka Chopra and Malti gave her followers cause for celebration. She posted a cover of the book online. She stated that individuals have no right to attempt to make her medical history public because they hardly know what she has been through in an interview with the same magazine.

For the unversed, Priyanka and Nick’s daughter, Malti was born a trimester before the due date. Their baby girl was kept in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) for 100 days and was welcomed home thereafter. Priyanka Chopra appreciated and thanked the hospital nurses for successfully bringing her daughter into the world.

“I had medical complications, this was a necessary step, and I’m so grateful I was in a position where I could do this. Our surrogate was so generous, kind, lovely and funny, and she took care of this precious gift for us for six months. You don’t know me, You don’t know what I’ve been through. And just because I don’t want to make my medical history, or my daughter’s, public doesn’t give you the right to make up whatever the reasons were,” she said

Priyanka Chopra Hits Back At Trolls

Priyanka was asked if she anticipated the kind of response she got after becoming a mother. She spoke about being accused of “outsourcing” conception, “renting” a womb, and purchasing a “ready-made baby” via a surrogate. She said to British Vogue, “I’ve developed a tough hide when people talk about me.”

Priyanka Chopra denied to entertain any gossips regarding her baby girl. The actress was clearly unaffected by any trolls targeting her or Malti.

“But it’s so painful when they talk about my daughter. I’m like, ‘Keep her out of it.’ I know what it felt like to hold her little hands when they were trying to find her veins. So no, she’s not going to be gossip. I’ve been really protective of this chapter of my life with my daughter. Because it’s not about my life only. It’s hers too.”

To which PeeCee got confused and revealed that she was unaware about Nick’s career.
