‘Intentionally ticked wrong answers in entrance exam’
Manoj shared that he once asked his father about his views on cinema and actors. But, after a brief conversation with him, he realized that it is impossible for them to understant his ambitions to become an actor as they would either disapprove of it or not allow him to leave the village.
Talking about his mother’s fear, Manoj told how his mother used to beat him if he went to watch films in theatre. He recalled and incident and said that he once had gone to see a film before his exam which was five days later. His parents had come to meet him and they asked him where he was returning from. Manoj told them that he had gone to rest as he had no guts to tell them the truth.
The actor also remembered his father’s desire of seeing him become a doctor. He shared that he reluctantly appeared for medical entrance exam but feared that if he answered the questions correctly, he would become a doctor. So, for questions that he knew the answers to, he would just hide his face and mark anything. He did this to fail in the exam.
