Is this a film that I would recommend anyone to watch, I don’t think so.” When asked if he had the opportunity to produce Animal, had he done so, he replied, “No, I wouldn’t. I think the psycho and disturbing character played by Ranbir Kapoor is problematic.”

We are in a field where if someone says to me, ‘You can’t make a film like this’, I will say, ‘Who are you to tell me what I should and shouldn’t make?’ I am allowed by the law of this country and I have the freedom to say whatever I want. What the audience wants to hear is for them to decide. I will never tell any filmmaker or writer or producer or anyone, ‘Yaar doesn’t make this’, or, ‘This kind of film cannot be made’. Everyone has their own opinion because I don’t think it is dangerous to do so.”
