Veteran actor Pankaj Dheer, who became a household name for his portrayal of Karna in the iconic Mahabharat series, has sadly passed away at the age of 68. The actor’s death on October 15th has left the entertainment industry in mourning. To honor his legacy, a prayer vigil was held on October 17th, which was attended by several prominent personalities from the world of film and television.

Among the notable attendees were Bollywood stalwarts like Rohit Shetty, Jackie Shroff, Suresh Oberoi, Sharat Saxena, Mukesh Rishi, Aditya Pancholi, and Esha Deol. Along with this, TV actors Puneet Issar and Mukesh Khanna were also present, paying their respects to the legendary actor. During the event, however, a tense moment occurred when Jackie Shroff confronted the paparazzi who were covering the prayer vigil. As the paparazzi began to gather around the mourners, Jackie Shroff voiced his frustration with their intrusive behavior.

In a video that has since gone viral, Jackie can be seen requesting the paparazzi to show some empathy and respect during such a sensitive time. “Give us some privacy,” Jackie appealed, urging the photographers to be considerate. At one point, as a photographer attempted to get too close, Jackie stopped him and said, “Bidu, I’m not doing anything.” He then asked the paparazzi, “You’re sensible, aren’t you? If it happens in your house, in our own house? Do you understand?” His remarks resonated with many, and social media users were quick to defend Jackie’s stance, criticizing the photographers for their lack of respect.

Pankaj Dheer’s death follows a long battle with cancer. According to his close friend Puneet Issar, who portrayed Duryodhana in Mahabharat, Pankaj had been in remission after initially battling the disease, but his condition worsened after the cancer recurred last year. He passed away surrounded by his loved ones, including his wife, son Nikitan, daughter-in-law Kritika Sengar, and granddaughter Devika.
