‘I’m Tired’: Selena Gomez Hints Retirement from Music

The singer and actress Selena Gomez may soon retire from music. “I do feel like I have one more album in me.” She mentioned this during the “SmartLess” podcast episode aired on Monday. She dreamed of becoming a “serious actress” from a young age. Her music career started unexpectedly in the late 2000s. Disney approached her to create an album while she was starring in the Disney Channel sitcom “Wizards of Waverly Place.”

“I thought it would be fun and I thought more than anything it would be a hobby that I really enjoyed,” she stated. “I wanted to be an actress. I never really intended on being a singer full-time but apparently, that hobby turned into something else.”

Selena has released three studio albums since 2013, featuring hit songs such as “Come & Get It,” “Same Old Love,” and “Lose You to Love Me.” She received her first two Grammy nominations in 2022 for Best Latin Pop Album, for her Spanish-language EP “Revelación.”

Her latest single, “Single Soon,” was released in late 2020. Selena Gomez is a well-known actress and singer who gained early fame for her role in the TV show “Wizards”. Currently, she stars in the Hulu series “Only Murders in the Building” alongside Martin Short and Steve Martin. She has also appeared in movies such as “Spring Breakers” and “A Rainy Day in New York”.

However, juggling her music and acting careers has been challenging for Gomez. She has been struggling with mental health issues, a topic she openly discussed in her 2022 docuseries “Selena Gomez: My Mind & Me”.

Selena acknowledged that she is not forced to choose between music and acting and admitted that this decision may be necessary in the future. “I’m going to want to chill because I’m tired,” she said.
