Imran Khan opened up about the darkest times in his life when he was devastated. Due to losses and failures on both professional and personal fronts, Imran was struggling at his lowest point. It was his ray of sunshine, his daughter Imara, that helped him cope. She gave him the strength he needed to go on in life.
Hits and misses among anticipation
When Imran Khan’s “Jaane Tu… Ya Jaane Na” came out in 2008, all eyes were on him. Imran was touted as the next big thing in Bollywood, according to trade experts. However, after accepting bad scripts and delivering duds one after the other, he couldn’t reach the expectations. Even starring in big-budget banners couldn’t save him.
Adding salt to his wounds, his separation from his wife Avantika Malik had him spiralling into a new low in life. 8 years of marriage failed and put a lot of strain on his mental health. Imran Khan says that this was his weakest stage where he would just vegetate in his house and ignore the doorbell.
“I would describe it as a husk of a human being,” he said, explaining the bad impact divorce had on him. Imran couldn’t even manage basic chores like brushing his teeth or getting dressed. However, amid all these troubles, he found one ray of hope – his daughter Imara.
New lease of life for Imran Khan
Imara gave him the much-needed strength to cope with his problems and deal with them in a sane way. She practically became his biggest motivation when he was emotionally and physically strained. When his daughter came to visit him, he made sure to wake up on time, keep the house clean, attend to all household chores, and stay sharp.
Since he and Avantika shared their daughter’s custody, it was up to him to take care of Imara from Thursday to Sunday. And the doting dad took his responsibilities seriously. Imran Khan took Imara to school, made her meals, and ensured he was the best father.
Imran Khan is currently dating actress Lekha Washington, after five years of being single. They grew close during the lockdown, and Lekha also attended Amir Khan’s daughter Ira’s wedding. Imran Khan, famous for “I Hate Luv Storys,” “Delhi Belly,” and “Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola,” is busy on social media, sharing his minimalistic lifestyle.
