Imtiaz Ali Comments On Deepika Padukone-Ranbir Kapoor’s Chemistry In ‘Tamasha’ Post Their Breakup: Read Here!

Imtiaz Ali shares light on Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone’s on-screen chemistry in their film ‘Tamasha’ following their breakup.

Imtiaz Ali talks about the kissing sequence in Tamasha with Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone

Filmmaker Imtiaz Ali recently talked with News18 about the dynamics between Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone after their breakup while filming his movie Tamasha. Considering that the film is a romantic comedy, there is a scene where Ranbir’s character kisses Deepika’s character. Even though it was all scripted, a few critics mocked the idea of the ex-couple performing such a scenario. On the other hand, Imtiaz discussed the significance of that specific scene and how it was a pleasant experience to film. To quote him:

“We were shooting this at a studio. It was a stage that we created and a lot of work had happened but this frame where he would enter from a certain place and he would enter from another place and they would be looking at each other from a very close distance. It’s a very difficult shot for actors to play because you are seeing them so close and one can’t formulate exactly what your reaction will be when you come so close to another person who belongs to the gender you are attracted to. It was a warm experience for all of us to watch.”

Imtiaz Ali dismisses reports of Deepika and Ranbir having an affair while shooting, Tamasha

Moving on, Imtiaz Ali refuted various rumours that the ex-couple, Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone, were having an affair while filming Tamasha. He maintained that the two are performers with lives outside of the camera, and that the only thing that was captured on celluloid was their shared passion for acting. He said:

“People feel that these people had an affair with each other, but beyond that for the life of an actor, there is a love for performing with each other, which is very important and significant. You might love to act with each other also and these two actors have that. They have the love for acting with each other. That showed in that frame.”

Deepika once blushed when she claimed that her then-boyfriend, Ranbir, loved her more than she did

Moving on, Imtiaz Ali denied a number of reports circulating that Deepika Padukone and Ranbir Kapoor, the ex-couple, were having an affair while Tamasha was being filmed. He insisted that the two are actors who lead lives apart from the camera, and that their mutual love of acting is all that was immortalised on celluloid. He declared: “That he loves me more than I love him.”
