Indian Army Pays Tribute To Vidya Balan, A Military Firing Range In Kashmir Is Named After The Lioness
Making an impression nationally and internationally, Vidya has been making headlines for many milestones. Vidya has been included among the 395 new invitees to the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences with the grand success of the recently released movie Lioness. Vidya Balan achieved another feat. A military firing range in Kashmir has been named after Vidya.
Vidya had joined in the ‘Gulmarg Winter Festival’ organized by the Indian Army in Kashmir Valley earlier this year. Recognising the several achievements of Vidya Balan, the Indian Army has named a military firing range in Gulmarg, Kashmir as ‘Vidya Balan Firing Range’.
Vidya Balan’s film Sherni is a story about a forest department officer who is trying to save a lioness.
However, other problems are standing in his way along with the people of the village, government departments and local politicians.
Vidya To Vote At The Oscars: Another Milestone Achieved
Oscar’s governing body Motion Picture Arts and Sciences included 395 people selected from across the world who were to vote at the Oscars. This 2021 Special Group was made up of 46% women, 39% underrepresented ethnic/racial communities and 53% international people, selected from 50 countries.
The beginning of the year 2021 somehow proved to be good for the film industry. ‘Master’ was the First Indian film from south India, that got a big opening and on the other hand, Vidya’s short film ‘Natkhat’ also got nominated for The Academy Awards 2021. Looking at all the events happening in her life, Vidya is very happy about everything. ‘Natkhat’ was a debut film as a producer for Vidya Balan.
The beautiful relationship between a mother and her son can also be seen in this short film. At every setback, this relationship gets hurt and it starts to be in turmoil. But in the end, life takes a beautiful turn. Vidya’s film is being appreciated a lot. This 33-minute short film created a lot of buzz when got nominated for The Academy Awards 2021.
