iPhone 13 To Launch In September; Here’s What We Know So Far
Creating a few ‘here and there’ design changes, the next-generation iPhone 13 is expected to make a launch in the month of September ‘as usual, this year. Oh yes! We know few things so far, which would not make you wait for the event of arrival, though the time being not too far from the present. Let’s get started:
Features and Specifications:
One latest report by Economic Daily News says that Apple will stick to the same naming scheme. The upcoming iPhones will be called iPhone 13, iPhone 13 Mini, iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max. The iPhone 13 has also received a few certificates, one of which is named 3C, received last month. Then, a couple of weeks later, the lineup was spotted in a Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) listing. As far as the design is concerned, the iPhone 13 may look nearly identical to the current-gen iPhones. Contrarily, the series is supposed to feature a shrunken notch – spotted by plenty of reports. Apple is looking forward to aim for infrared flood illuminator, sensor and dot projector in a single module. Alongside, the earpiece also is moved to the top of every set of the series.
Furthermore, Digitimes recently said in a report, “The die size of the VSCEL chip used in the Face-ID system will shrink by 40 per cent to 50 per cent. This reduction in chip size seems to be another reason for the shrunken notch.” Also, last month, revealing the dummy units, Sonny Dickson revealed, “This is not the first we’re seeing dummy iPhone 13 units. While its credibility can be questioned, the rear panel looks identical to the previous CAD renders and dummies.” Moreover, the iPhone 13 can be seen featuring diagonal cameras. Alongside, Apple is also supposed to bring 120Hz LTPO displays to pro models this year, which will be supplied by Samsung and LG.
Apple hints us towards the inclusion of a Touch-ID in-display fingerprint scanner. Contrarily, we may also see the always-on display on the upcoming iPhone 13 models, likely to show the clock, battery charge and notifications. We may also see an inclusion of a bigger coil for faster wireless charging and reverse wireless charging on the upcoming models.
The iPhone 13 will be powered by the new A15 Bionic chipset being developed by TSMC. Reports revealed that TSMC has already begun with the production of the chipset. The chipset is based on a 5nm manufacturing process similar to the A14 Bionic.
Moving forward to the plan for bigger batteries by Apple, the iPhone 13 Mini will have a 2,406mAH battery cell, the iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Pro will sport a 3,095mAH battery cell, while the iPhone 13 Pro Max will be having a 4,325mAH battery backup capacity. Compared to the next generation models, the iPhone 12 sports a 2,227mAH battery cell, the iPhone 12 Pro gets a 2,815mAH battery back-up capacity, while the top-end iPhone 12 Pro Max sports a 3,687mAH cell.
Other than these, the camera department will remain the same on the iPhone 13 models. Contrarily, the iPhone 13 will feature an f/1.8 ultra-wide lens, which will believably be restored for the Pro models. Apple’s settlement with Qualcomm allows them to use Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon X60 5G modem. This modem is supposed to be integrated into the upcoming A15 Bionic chipset, which will save battery life in an enhanced way. Alongside, we may also see Wi-Fi 6E supporting every model of the iPhone 13 series.
Price in India:
Currently, there are no such leaks about the pricing of the models. As per our knowledge, TrendForce’s report mentioned that the pricing will be the same as of the iPhone 12, this year, which is Rs 79,990.
