Ranbir Kapoor’s film ‘Animal’ was the biggest blockbuster of 2023 that created a stir among the fans. Directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, the film was released in theaters in December last year. Despite its massive success at the box office, the masculine film ‘Animal’ faced strong criticism from a certain section of the audience. It was alleged that the 2023 film promotes toxic masculinity and misogyny. Eight months after its theatrical release, veteran filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt has given his opinion on the critical response his son-in-law Ranbir Kapoor’s film ‘Animal’ has received.

In an interview with one of the media houses, Mahesh Bhatt shared his views about the criticism of Ranbir Kapoor’s film ‘Animal’. He said, “This is also a part of entertainment… It is a bloody sport. You will enter the fray and somewhere people will celebrate your fall and somewhere people will celebrate your victory. This is a part of it.” The senior director believes that there are very few artists in the world and most people are spectators. Bhatt believes that the world belongs to creators and not to those people who throw bricks at good artists.

While talking about this film, he said, “It takes a different kind of audacity to be an artist. These are occupational hazards. You can’t have both at the same time. You stand in the sun, you get burnt in the sun.” A month ago, Ranbir Kapoor reacted to the massive criticism of his film ‘Animal’. The actor, in a conversation with businessman Nikhil Kamath, said that social media created havoc after the release of his film. The actor believed that social media users needed something to talk about and they went ahead to call ‘Animal’ a misogynistic film.
