Bollywood actress Amrita Rao might have been away from screens for a long time now, but she keeps grabbing headlines through her vlogs and social media posts. The actress who is still remembered for her portrayal in Sooraj Barjatya’s ‘Vivah’, recently opened up about the experience of shooting the film and how it left an impact on her personal life.
Recalling the time of ‘Vivah’ release, Amrita in a conversation with Rajshri Productions said that the response to the film was overwhelming and magical. Her role in the film became so famous that post the release of the film on the silver screen, Amrita started receiving matrimonial proposals from Canada and the US. She revealed that since there were no smartphones at that time, the suitors used to send her love letters alongside photographs of their homes, beloved mothers, and sleek automobiles.
Amrita said that at the time when all of this was happening, she used to laugh at such gestures. But now she realises what impact one role had due to which many wanted to marry her.
For the unversed, ‘Vivah’ starred Amrita Rao alongside Shahid Kapoor. The film proved to be a path-breaker in the careers of both actors. It went on to collect Rs 100 crore at the box office making it a memorable success.
Talking about Amrita Rao, the actress who made her debut with the 2002 film ‘Ab Ke Baras,’ appeared last in ‘Thackeray’ which was released in 2019. Besides ‘Vivah’, Some of Amrita’s notable works include ‘Ishq Vishk’, ‘Main Hoon Na,’ and ‘Jolly LLB’.
