‘It’s About Upbringing’: Devoleena Bhattacharjee Slams User Over His Comments On Conversion To Islam

Popular TV actress Devoleena Bhattacharjee is in limelight these days for her personal life. She surprised her fans by marrying her gym trainer Shanwaz Shaikh last month. Bhattacharjee faced a lot of criticism for taking the plunge with a Muslim guy. Now recently a user on social media has left the actress fuming with anger after he targeted Devoleena regarding conversion to Islam.

It all started with author Taslima Nasreen commenting on Rakhi Sawant’s conversion to Islam. On this, Devoleena Bhattacharjee stood in support of Rakhi. While sharing the post on social media, she said that Rakhi converted to religion on her own choice and it was completely different in her case. Devoleens disagreed with Taslima’s point of view that Islam is not evolving.

A troll shared the post of Devoleena and stated, ‘He will do this, he will make you feel everything that can lead you to accept Islam and hate idol worship, like Dipika Kakar Ibrahim.’

After this, a fierce debate started on Twitter between Devoleena and the troll. On this tweet of the troll, Devoleena gave a befitting reply and said, ‘I can say the same for you that you can suppress your woman and make her do things that she does not like or does not agree with. Before judging someone on the basis of religion, assess yourself. There are lakhs of women in all religions who are in dire need of help. Help them’.

The netizen replied that he is not like any ‘Abdul’ and treats women in his family equally. To this, Devoleena said that she has seen such cases with Sunils & Sachins also. So this is all about Upbringing and not religion.

For the unversed, Dipika Kakar and Shoaib Ibrahim are the cutest couple of TV industry. They decided to unite in the year 2018. Dipika got married to Shoaib in his native village in Maudaha, UP. Before marriage, Dipika had converted to Islam for Shoaib. Dipika’s new name published on wedding cards was Faiza.
