Imtiaz Ali denied that Jab We Met 2 is in production, ending speculation about a sequel.

Will there be a Jab We Met sequel?

In response to fans’ hopes for a Jab We Met sequel, filmmaker Imtiaz Ali has flatly denied that a follow-up is in the works. As reported by News18, the director has admitted that Jab We Met 2 now lacks a plot.

He continued by saying that he has read and heard several rumours that production on a sequel to the classic film has begun, but that he is at a loss for words because no one had contacted him in advance to confirm the news. The director did not rule out doing a sequel and just replied, “We’ll have to see.”

With a Jab, We Met

In the key parts, the film featured Kareena Kapoor Khan and Shahid Kapoor and told the story of a guy who has given up on life. The film was released in 2007. Later, he falls in love with a vibrant young woman he meets on the train.

The rest of the movie is about what happens to them following their train ride. Over fifty crore rupees were brought in at the box office by the film starring Tarun Arora, Saumya Tandon, and Dara Singh. The film received positive reviews from critics and audiences alike and went on to earn a number of accolades.
