According to veteran actor Jaya Bachchan, “physical attraction” is essential for a relationship to last longer. Jaya also stated on her granddaughter Navya Naveli Nanda’s podcast “What The Hell Navya” that during “our times, we couldn’t experiment.” Jaya described the physical aspect as “very, very important,” adding that a relationship cannot last on “love, fresh air, and adjustment.” She also stated that she has no objections to Navya Naveli Nanda having a “child without a marriage.”
Jaya stated, “People will find it offensive coming from me, but physical attractiveness and compatibility are also important factors. We couldn’t experiment in our days, but today’s generation can, and why shouldn’t they? Because this is also responsible for a long-term relationship. It will not last long if there is no physical relationship. I believe that you cannot survive on love, fresh air, and adjustment alone. It is extremely important.”
“Sometimes it’s a pity, but of course, many young people don’t even think about it, but the younger generation, even the generation of Shweta after me, Navya is a different game, but they feel guilty because of the experience and I think it’s very wrong. It’s all right, and then I do something secretly. If you had a physical relationship and your relationship didn’t work out, you could be good,” the veteran actor added. .
Jaya also gave advice to the younger generation. she said: “I see it very clinically. Because today these feelings are less … I think I should marry my best friend. You must have a good friend, you must have a conversation, you must say, “You and your child. I would like to have a child. I think she is beautiful because she likes her, so let’s get married because society thinks she’s pretty.” No problem. It doesn’t matter if you have children out of wedlock.”
Jaya shared her thoughts with Navya and also with her daughter Shweta Bachchan. She is Jaya’s eldest son by her husband Amitabh Bachchan. They married in 1973 and have two children: Shweta (1974) and a son, actor Abhishek Bachchan (1976). Jaya will next appear in Karan Johar, who curated Rocky and Rani Ki Prem Kahani. The film also stars Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt, Dharmendra and Shabana Azmi. The film is slated to premiere in theaters in 2023.
