Not many weeks ago, the trailer for Ranveer Singh’s Jayeshbhai Jordaar was published, and it has garnered a generally favorable reaction from the public.
Even as the film’s release approaches, the production has found itself in legal difficulty due to depicting a prenatal sex-determination scenario in the trailer, which has prompted a lawsuit.
In the film, the Gully Boy star plays the part of a Gujarati guy called Jayeshbhai Patel, who is married to Mudra Patel (played by Shalini Pandey), who struggles to preserve the life of his newborn daughter from being born prematurely.
As reported by the Live Law, the Delhi High Court has filed a complaint against Jayeshbhai Jordaar questioning the incidents shown in the trailer. The portrayal of prenatal sex determination is statutorily banned,’ according to the petition submitted by counsel Pawan Prakash Pathak. In addition, he expects that the scene will be ‘removed because it promotes forbidden activity.’
Meanwhile, the comedy-drama picture is scheduled to be released in theatres on May 13th. Divyang Thakkar makes his directorial debut with this film, produced by Aditya Chopra and Maneesh Sharma under the banner of Yash Raj Films. Thakkar is well known as an actor-turned-director.
Boman Irani, Ratna Pathak Shah, and Deeksha Joshi all appear in the film as supporting characters, in addition to Ranveer Singh and Shalini Pandey.
Aside from this, Ranveer Singh has several intriguing projects in the works. Ranveer will be subsequently seen in Karan Johar’s Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani, in which he will co-star alongside Alia Bhatt, Dharmendra, Shabana Azmi, and Jaya Bachchan, among others.
In addition, the Bajirao Mastani actor has roles in Cirkus, a film directed by Rohit Shetty, and Anniyan, a Hindi version of a Tamil film.
