The late actor and friend of Jennifer Aniston, Matthew Perry, is greatly missed. She is urging followers to preserve Matthew Perry’s legacy. The Morning Show actress discussed his untimely death when she attended the 2024 Critics’ Choice Awards in Santa Monica, California, on Sunday.

Aniston, 54, answered an Entertainment Tonight question on how she thinks Perry’s followers will continue to commemorate his legacy by saying that they ought to “celebrate him.”

Matthew, who battled addiction his entire life, died on October 28 at the age of 54. In December, the autopsy report disclosed that the cause of his death was acute ketamine effects.

His unexpected death, which was determined to be unintentional, was also attributed to drowning, coronary artery disease, and the effects of buprenorphine, a drug used to treat opioid use disorder.

After learning of the death, Perry’s loved ones wrote emotional and heartwarming messages for him on social media. His family also established a foundation in his honor to help others who are abusing drugs. This was something the late actor had planned to do before he passed away.

Back in November, Jennifer encouraged her fans online to contribute to the Perry Foundation, writing on giving that Perry “would have been grateful for the love.”

The actress also went on to call the myriad homages following his demise “so beautiful.” “I hope he can know that he was loved in a way he never thought he was,” she told.
