‘Jersey’ Accused Of Plagiarism; Case To Be Heard In Bombay HC

The release date of Shahid Kapoor’s film ‘Jersey’ has been pushed back to April 22. This information was just received this morning. This Shahid Kapoor-Mrunal Thakur film now has an exclusive scoop from ETimes.

Rajneesh Jaiswal, a writer, has launched a lawsuit against the film’s producers, stating that the story/script is his. Today, Justice Chagla of the Mumbai High Court will hear the case. We’re wondering if that’s one of the reasons the movie was rescheduled for next week.

On April 14, 2022, the film was supposed to clash with ‘KGF Chapter 2’. However, on April 22, 2022, this picture will be released in theatres. Elaborating on postponing the release of the film, producer Aman Gill said, “As a team, we have shed our blood, sweat, and tears in the jersey. We would like our lovely film to reach all of you. That’s why now Jersey will be released on April 22, 2022.

In this film, directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri, Shahid Kapoor will appear in two different looks. The film’s plot centres around an unsuccessful cricketer who, in order to represent the Indian cricket team, decides to return to cricket after a three-decade absence, and offers his son a jersey to fulfil his wish. Let us inform you that the film ‘Jersey’ is a Hindi remake of the Tamil sports drama film of the same name, in which Shahid Kapoor will portray a cricketer. Along with Shahid Kapoor, Mrunal Thakur and Pankaj Kapur play lead parts in the film.

Let us remind you that Shahid Kapoor’s film was supposed to be released in theatres on December 31st of last year. However, many state governments had authorised theatres to open at half capacity because of the third wave of Covid-19. Following this, the filmmakers postponed the film’s release date, and it is reported that, in light of the upcoming release of KGF Chapter 2, the producers have opted to postpone Jersey’s release date once more. At the same time, the film’s release date has been pushed back numerous times.
