Versatile actress Shraddha Srinath is well known for her quality of work in the South film industry. Since her acting debut in the Malayalam film Kohinoor in 2015, there has been no turning back for her. Her blockbuster pictures have been remade into other languages.

These include her Tamil “U Turn” in 2016, which got her widespread fame, got remade with the same title in Telugu, starring Samantha Ruth Prabhu. The 2-time South Filmfare award winner also has multiple projects lined up in Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, Telugu, and Hindi. However, she has a strong reason for not doing many roles in Telugu, she reveals.

Shraddha’s Hit Projects in All Languages

Even after her stellar Telugu debut in the cult classic “Jersey” opposite natural star Nani, Shraddha Srinath took a long break from the industry.

Incidentally, “Jersey” was also remade in Hindi with Shahid Kapoor in the lead role. However, it didn’t make as huge waves as the original. You might also have caught her in just two other Telugu films: Netflix’s “Krishna and His Leela,” alongside Siddhu Jonnalagadda and Seerat Kapoor, and “Jodi” with Aadi.

Got Offered Similar Roles After Jersey

As is the case with any film industry, Shraddha feels that she got stereotyped after the success of Jersey. “Nothing felt original,” she said, “they all seemed the same.” She has been very selective in her roles because she expects the scripts that she receives to be on par with that of Jersey or even better.

“Look, I am okay with playing a mother, but it has to be a mother with substance. It is 2024, and it is high time to level up,” Shraddha Srinath opines.

“I refuse to accept such characters.” According to her, some excellent stories are emerging in all corners of India. She doesn’t have to settle for less – “I will find work in many industries,” she finally agrees.

Intriguing Lineup Ahead

Shraddha Srinath is paired with Victory Venkatesh in the new movie “Saindhav,” slated to release during the Sankranti festival. The 33-year-old law graduate appeared in “Milan Talkies” in Hindi and her new Hindi film “Letters to Mr.Khanna” is awaiting release. Fans are eagerly looking forward to her “Rudraprayag” in Kannada and “Kaliyugam” in Tamil. No wonder she insists on picking quality subjects over quantity.
