The 76th Cannes Film Festival organizers have announced that this film will open the festival on May 16. The French film will be released in French theatres on the same day. The French film also stars Benjamin Lavernhe, Louis Garrel, and Pierre Richard.
According to reports, the film is about the French King’s turbulent relationship with lover Jeanne du Barry, who was brought to Versailles Palace by the king despite the fact that she was not a noble.
