Kajol has announced her next film ‘Salaam Venky’. The film is being directed by the best actress turned director Revathy. This is the first jugalbandi of these two powerhouse actresses. While sharing the information about the film through social media, Kajol said that the shooting has started.

On Friday, the actress shared pictures from the film’s muhurta with Revathi on Instagram, which also gives glimpses of Kajol’s character. With the pictures, Kajol wrote, “Today we are starting the journey of such a story, which needed a lot to be told. A path that needed to be walked and a life that should be celebrated. Looking forward to sharing this incredible true story of Salaam Venky.”

The movie is produced by Suraj Singh, Shraddha Agarwal and Varsha Kukreja. The story of the film is inspired by true events and characters. Kajol plays a mother who deals with challenging situations.

Talking about Kajol, her last film is Tribhanga, which came on Netflix. This film was produced by Ajay Devgn and he also made his OTT debut as a producer with this film. At the same time, Kajol’s last film in theatres is Tanhaji- The Unsung Warrior in 2020, in which Kajol played Savitribai Malusare, wife of Ajay’s character Tanaji. Revathy has been a well-known actress in Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam cinema, who has also done remarkable work in Hindi cinema. In Hindi films, Revathi did the 1991 film Love with Salman Khan, whose memories are still in the minds of the audience.
