In a recent episode of Aap Ki Adalat, actress and BJP MP Kangana Ranaut addressed her past comments targeting Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor, in which she had labelled him a “serial skirt chaser.”

The episode’s promo reveals Kangana’s unapologetic stance as she responded to host Rajat Sharma’s probing questions about her remarks against Ranbir and other industry figures like filmmaker Karan Johar.

When asked about her tweet targeting Ranbir, Kangana responded with her characteristic candour, laughing as she said, “Aap toh aise bol rahe hai jaise wo Swami Vivekanand ho” (You’re talking as though he is Swami Vivekananda).

Kangana’s 2020 Remarks on Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone

Kangana’s controversial comments date back to a 2020 tweet in which she took a sharp dig at both Ranbir Kapoor and actress Deepika Padukone. In the tweet, she referred to Ranbir as a “serial skirt chaser” and criticised Deepika, calling her a “self-proclaimed mental illness patient.”

The tweet further stated, “Ranbir Kapoor is a serial skirt chaser but no one dare call him a rapist. Deepika is a self-proclaimed mental illnesses patient but no one calls her a psycho or a witch… this name-calling is reserved only for extraordinary outsiders who come from small towns and humble families.”

Criticism of Bollywood’s Star Kids

Kangana’s remarks were a response to another tweet that highlighted how Ranbir, despite delivering several box office flops, continued to receive strong media support and landed major film roles, such as in Rajkumar Hirani’s Sanju (2018).

Since the tragic death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput in June 2020, Kangana has been vocal in her criticism of Bollywood’s “star kids,” including Alia Bhatt, Sonam Kapoor, and Ananya Panday. She has also taken jabs at actresses Taapsee Pannu and Swara Bhasker, referring to them as “B-grade actresses.”

Upcoming Project: Emergency

Kangana is currently preparing for the release of her latest film, Emergency, where she stars as the late Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. Directed by Kangana herself, the film features an ensemble cast, including Anupam Kher, Mahima Chaudhary, Milind Soman, and the late Satish Kaushik. The movie is set during the Emergency period in India in 1975 and is one of the most anticipated releases of the year.
