Kangana Ranaut Reflects On Homemaking, Says Her Perspective Has Evolved

Actor Kangana Ranaut has acknowledged that her views on homemaking have changed over time. In a recent interview with Brut India, she revealed that her mother once encouraged her to focus on domestic skills, but she initially dismissed the advice.

“My mom used to say that as a woman, you should be more invested in homemaking—from making achar (pickle) to ghee (clarified butter) to growing vegetables. I used to think she was saying silly things, and I questioned why it even mattered,” Kangana shared during the conversation.

The actor admitted that her perspective has undergone a transformation. “At one point, I believed I was one of the youngest and richest women in the country. But today, I find myself saying the same things my mother used to say. I think that is the evolution of women. I once read a quote that said, ‘You are not born as a woman, but you grow to be a woman.’ Today, my mother is happy because she believes I have matured and become wiser,” she added.

Kangana’s Recent Projects

Kangana was last seen in Emergency, where she portrayed former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. The film, which released on January 17, explored the controversial 21-month Emergency imposed by Indira Gandhi between 1975 and 1977. The political drama featured a stellar cast, including Anupam Kher, Shreyas Talpade, Vishak Nair, Milind Soman, and the late Satish Kaushik.

Beyond her film career, Kangana has ventured into the hospitality industry. She recently launched a restaurant named The Mountain Story in Manali. The project aligns with her long-standing aspiration, as she had expressed her desire to open a café in a 2013 interview. During a roundtable discussion featuring Deepika Padukone, Kangana had shared that she envisioned herself running a restaurant in the future.

With her evolving perspective on life and new business ventures, the actor continues to make headlines both on and off the screen.
