Today, actress Kangana Ranaut disclosed that actor Milind Soman will play the role of Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw in her upcoming directorial project “Emergency.” On social media, Kangana also unveiled Milind’s first look from the film. In the picture, Milind sported Sam Manekshaw’s iconic moustache and was seen in that uniform.

Sharing the post, Kangana captioned it as: “Presenting the dynamic Milind Soman as Sam Manekshaw, the man who was instrumental in saving India’s borders during the Indo-Pak war and whose service was revered for his honesty; who was charming, a war hero; and a visionary leader in an #Emergency.” Reacting to this post, Anupam Kher commented: Brilliant. Milind too posted the photo on his social media profile and wrote: “Honored to be a part of Kangana Ranaut’s directorial #Emergency. Played the role of Sam Manekshaw in this film; the man who brought India with his wit and valor, who led India to victory in the Indo-Pak war of 1971.”

As of now, Kangana has revealed the first looks of several characters from the film “Emergency.” In this film, Kangana will play the role of the late Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, while Shreyas Talpade will play the role of the late Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. Anupam Kher will play the role of revolutionary leader J P Narayan, and Mahima Chaudhry will be seen as cultural activist and Indira Gandhi’s confidante, Pupul Jayakar.

The film is produced to tell the story of a historical moment in the political history of India, and it is written and directed by Kangana. Ritesh Shah has written the screenplay and dialogues for the film. “Emergency” is presented by Manikarnika Films and is produced by Renu Pitti and Kangana. This film will mark Kangana’s first solo directorial. It is worth noting that the team has started filming the project.
