Film critic Rajeev Masand who quit Journalism is all set to join filmmaker Karan Johar’s talent management agency Dharma Cornerstone (DCA) as Chief Operating Officer. Rajeev, 41, worked as a journalist and critic in the entertainment industry for over two decades. As COO, he will now focus on development at Dharma Cornerstone Agency through various avenues for each individual. After Karan Johar confirmed the news of Rajeev joining his venture as COO, actress Kangana Ranaut lashes out at filmmaker for appointing Rajeev in his venture.
Re-sharing the news on her Twitter handle, Kangana Ranaut wrote, “Rajeev wrote the most poisonous blind items about Shushant and me, he openly licked mediocre star kids and gave negative reviews to genuinely good films, even as a journalist he was always KJO minion. Good, he left journo facade and joined KJO officially,” “This is how movie mafia hijacks key people in every place, agents/critics/journalists/distributors/award jury they plant their minions in your personal life to ruin you from every angle, they ban you n ruin your image, many succumb few survive. Need strict laws in the movie industry,” read her next tweet.
Earlier a source close to the Karan Johar’s venture, told Bollywood Hungama, “Journalist Rajeev Masand is all set to join DCA next week. He’ll be working as the COO of the company. Karan and other top authorities at Dharma believe that he’ll be the right person for the job and help them in scouting fresh talent and managing them. That’s what it seems like. He has been heard telling that he’s taking a sabbatical from journalism. However, looking at other journalists who quit the field completely when getting into film production and related business, it seems like Rajeev Masand, too, would go the same way.”
