India’s leading political party Bharatiya Janata Party was worried about the impact of Kangana Ranaut’s film ‘Emergency’ on the Haryana Assembly elections. The Mumbai unit of BJP also felt that Zee Entertainment’s owner Subhash Chandra had backed it. The censor board was given the task of properly ‘scrutinizing’ the film and the regional officer of its Mumbai office got it ‘scrutinized’ with full diligence and has asked the actress to make 13 cuts in the film.

There are indications that the countdown for the release of ‘Emergency’ has also been given in Zee’s film production company Zee Studios since last evening. Some of the leaders of the ruling BJP in Maharashtra and Haryana had indicated to the top that if ‘Emergency’ is released before the elections, it may harm the party.

After this, no big Hindi film is in the queue for release on October 18 and 25.
