Suraj Kumar, also known as Dhruwan, met with an accident on June 25 around 4 p.m. He was on his way from Mysuru to Ooty when this tragic accident took place. This major accident sent shockwaves to the Kannada film industry.

About the accident

According to the reports, the actor was on his motorbike and was trying to overtake a tractor. He lost control while overtaking and rammed into a tipper lorry near the Hitkari Gate, Gundlupet Taluk in Karnataka. His right leg came under the wheels of the tipper lorry and was crushed. Suraj was rushed to Manipal hospital in Mysuru. There the doctors had to amputate his right leg to save his life. He has now been shifted to a private hospital where he is being treated.

On his workfront

This 24 yr old actor was all set to make his debut this year. His debut movie directed by Manju Ammanapura was to hit the screens later this year. He also has an untitled film with Priya Prakash Varrier. This budding actor also worked as an assistant director to films like Airavatha and Tharak previously. His scheduled debut film Bhagwaan Shrikrishna Paramatma directed by Anup Anthony was shelved for unknown reasons.

Suraj Kumar’s family

Apparently, actor Suraj Kumar is an avid bike lover. He has connections with the popular family of Kannada film industry. Suraj is the son of producer S.A. Srinivas, who happens to be the brother of the revered producer Parvathiamma Rajkumar. He is thus related to the legendary actor Dr. Rajkumar. Actors Shiva Rajkumar and late Puneeth Rajkumar are his cousins. Kannada superstar Shiva Rajkumar along with his wife Geeta visited the hospital where Suraj is recovering.
