In a shocking development, four prominent Bollywood celebrities, including comedian Kapil Sharma, actor Rajpal Yadav, choreographer Remo D’Souza, and singer-actor Sugandha Mishra, have reportedly received death threats from Pakistan. An FIR has been filed in Mumbai, and the police have launched an investigation into the matter.
The alarming threats were delivered via email, which made it clear that the recipients should treat the message with utmost seriousness. The email, signed by a person identifying himself as ‘BISHNU,’ claimed to be monitoring the celebrities’ recent activities and warned of dire consequences if they did not comply with unspecified demands. The message sent to Kapil Sharma contained a chilling note: “This is not a publicity stunt or an attempt to harass you. We urge you to treat this matter with utmost seriousness and confidentiality.”
The threat against Rajpal Yadav came on December 14, 2024, when he received an email from someone named ‘Bishnu,’ who claimed responsibility for a plot to kill Kapil Sharma and his team. The email cited Sharma’s ongoing show, which is being sponsored by Bollywood star Salman Khan, as the reason behind the threat. Following this, Yadav’s wife, Radha Rajpal Yadav, promptly filed a police complaint at the Amboli Police Station in Mumbai.
The police have registered a case under section 351(3) of the Indian Penal Code, which deals with threats of harm. Authorities have pledged to increase security for Kapil Sharma and his team. Additionally, the Amboli Police traced the IP address of the threatening email to Pakistan and are now seeking assistance from the government to initiate communication with Pakistani authorities. The email also warned the recipients to respond within eight hours or face severe personal and professional consequences.
Kapil Sharma, known for his sharp humor and wit, has been a beloved figure in Indian entertainment for years. He first rose to prominence with The Great Indian Laughter Challenge and later became a household name with Comedy Nights with Kapil. More recently, he launched The Great Indian Kapil Show on Netflix, which has featured top celebrities like Aamir Khan and Ranbir Kapoor.
Rajpal Yadav, a versatile actor renowned for his comedic roles, was last seen in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3. His career spans several successful Bollywood films, and he continues to be a prominent figure in the industry.
The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are taking the matter seriously as they work to ensure the safety of the involved celebrities.
