Karan Johar, Ajay Devgn Talk About Their Old Fight On KWK8; Filmmaker Shares, ‘Took a Moment for Us To…’

Bollywood filmmaker Karan Johar shares a close bond with actors Kajol and Ajay Devgn. Their conversations often go viral on social media. However, their relationship took a turn for the worse when KJo’s ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ and Devgn’s ‘Shivaay’ clashed at the box office in 2016. The filmmaker and actor fought because of a tweet by KRK, who claimed that he was paid by the director to criticize the actor’s movie. This led to a major fallout between Karan and his best friend Kajol. Recently, Karan and Ajay opened up about their fallout.

In the latest episode of Koffee with Karan season 8, Ajay Devgn appeared on the celebrity chat show with Singham director Rohit Shetty. During the show, they discussed their previous fallout and how they reconciled later without much discussion. Rohit also stated that he has vowed to never release his movies on the same day as Ajay’s husband. This discussion took place after the rapid-fire round where Ajay had mentioned that Rohit was one of his ‘sworn enemies’.

The director of the movie “Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahaani” has addressed his disagreement with Ajay Devgn. He stated that there was a misunderstanding and misconception between them, as he didn’t speak with Devgn and Kajol. The director also mentioned that Devgn, being very close friends with Kajol, must have been going through a troubled time.

Bollywood Shaadis reported that the 51-year-old filmmaker spoke about his brief reconciliation with another person. He said that they happened to be in the same studio, and he expressed his desire to meet with the other person. The other person agreed to the meeting immediately and suggested that they should not discuss any past issues. The filmmaker mentioned that he was close to Kajol, and they belonged to the same industry, so they both should maintain cordial relations. It just took a minute for them to get back to normalcy.

Just to clarify, the head of Dharma Productions, Karan Johar, spoke about a difficult experience in his book ‘An Unsuitable Boy’ in 2017. He shared how the situation affected him emotionally and how Kajol’s reaction to it broke his trust. Karan had felt a deep emotional connection to Kajol as a friend for the past 25 years, but her behaviour caused him to lose all feelings for her. He described her actions as one of the most humiliating things that can happen to someone who loves another deeply.

Despite their occasional disagreements, Karan and Kajol are the best of friends. When Karan welcomed his twins, Yash and Roohi, Kajol was one of the first to send her well wishes. Although they took some time to rekindle their friendship, they are now as strong as ever.
