Karan Johar talked about his love life and how tough it is for him to find a life partner because of his many failed relationships.
Karan Johar spills beans about his personal life, says it’s difficult to find love for him
Karan Johar recently spoke with Prabal Gurung on the matters of his heart, revealing that finding the perfect idea of love has been a challenging thing in his life. He said that in his 30s, he had trouble finding the perfect spouse for him and being in a relationship in which he was an equal partner. He remarked how his earlier admission of being in a one-sided relationship only served to strengthen him. He said this:
“I haven’t been in very many relationships. When I came into my own, it was in my mid-30s when I realised that I could do what I wanted to do in the zone of love, it was difficult. It was not easy to find the right partner, and be in a relationship that was equal. I have had a bout of one-sided love, which I made Ae Dil Hai Mushkil from. It was my sad ektarfa pyaar, which lasted many years, but taught me the power of love itself. It empowered me, even though it broke my heart.”
Karan Johar reveals if he feels sad about the absence of love in his life
Despite the fact that Karan hasn’t yet discovered his true love, he doesn’t feel devoid of love in any way. When you question the director about it, he says that despite the fact that he gave his romantic life many chances that did not work out, he is still surrounded by affection from his mother and his children. He did, however, admit that he does have a secret desire to meet and marry the one person he could cling to during his darkest moments. As Karan mentioned:
“I have not been able to find that relationship where I can give my all, because I gave my all to that one relationship and it didn’t fructify. And I have my children; it is my most important love story. I have my mum, who is my pillar, my strength, my core. I feel I’m consumed by so much love already. It would be lovely to be in a relationship, because there are lonely moments, and there are moments where you need that tactility; you need someone to hold you and hug you, but somehow or the other, things haven’t fallen into place. I pray to the universe that eventually I can talk about a relationship of strength in my life.”
Karan once revealed that his film, Ae Dil Hai Mushkil carried an anecdote from his own love life
Karan Johar previously spoke with Mid-Day during a press conference when he discussed the movie he directed, Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, and claimed that the storyline was actually inspired by a one-sided love affair he had with a relative. The only difference, according to Karan, is that the character in the movie, who is portrayed by Anushka Sharma, dies, whilst the real-life counterpart continues to live.
