Karan Johar is a known name in the Hindi film industry. Over the years, Karan has produced many films and also directed a few larger-than-life and blockbuster hits. Today, the filmmaker runs one of the biggest production houses in the country. He is also close friends with another renowned director and producer Aditya Chopra.
Aditya Chopra is the owner of Yash Raj films and is known for his directorial debut ‘Dilwale Dulhaniya Lejayenge’. However, did you know the two filmmakers were not very close at one time? it was because of Karan who found Aditya very uncool.
Karan Johar is known for his outspoken nature and witty attitude. He likes to call a spade a spade and often gives out a statement that makes headlines. But, his reason to not being friends with Aditya can raise a few eyebrows. As per Karan in his memoir, he never really liked hanging out or talking to Aditya when they were kids. In his book, Karan mentions that he used to often complain to his mother about not sending him to Aditya’s house.
He admits to being in the company of star kids like Hrithik Roshan, Abhishek Bachchan, and others. He further states that he was rather close to girls than boys in his group like Shweta Bachchan and Zoya Akhtar. He says that He never got along with Abhishek and other boys as kids and never liked them as they used to talk a lot in Hindi.
Karan reveals that he used to come back home and tell his mother that the boys were too filmy and used to talk about only films. He found this constant talk in Hindi rather downmarket and uncool and said that he would never talk to these kids.
In his memoir, Karan Johar has also mentioned that he never used to disclose to his friends that his father Yash Johar was a producer. Karan had told his friends that his father is a businessman as he never used to like the films his father made.
