The First Shoot: A Nervous Beginning

Johar vividly recalled his first time hosting the prestigious talk show. He shared that everything that could go wrong went wrong. He was stressed and nervous, but this experience was a turning point in his career, shaping him into today’s confident host. This candid revelation provides a powerful glimpse into the initial struggles that even successful personalities like Johar face at the beginning of their journey.

“It was Saif’s birthday that day. And Preity was coming in, with some kind of stress. She was really upset. Saif was going through a certain phase in his life that was not very, you know, it was an emotional phase he was going through. So he was a bit low. I was stressed and nervous. It was my first day. So there were three clashing energies then and I was like, I could feel my feet, you know, shake literally. But it was a very upbeat show. Well, that’s why I think everybody was an actor on that show. I was acting and they were acting and at the end of it, I was almost drained by the end of it. I was like, Oh God, take me home. Because I was so stressed out.”

He added, “I never thought I would be because I’d faced the camera before, you know, but for the first time I felt nervous because I think it was also television, you know, it’s like, you have six cameras, your look, you have to be right. You know, the way you’re, everything, you know the drill. It takes a little getting into, but I think by day two or three, I was more settled.”
