Actor Kartik Aaryan, recently seen in the film Chandu Champion, based on India’s first Paralympics gold medalist Murlikant Petkar, has addressed concerns regarding Bollywood’s perceived reluctance to speak out on significant social issues. The 33-year-old actor was questioned about why the film industry often remains silent on matters like the recent rape and murder case of a trainee doctor in Kolkata, which sent shockwaves across the country.
In an interview with News 18, Aaryan responded, “It is not true that Bollywood doesn’t react. Everyone reacts in their own way. The difference is that people speak out depending on the situation. But it’s not that no one reacts at all.”
Aaryan’s comments come in the context of earlier statements made by several Bollywood celebrities, including Priyanka Chopra, Alia Bhatt, Parineeti Chopra, Richa Chadha, Ayushmann Khurrana, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Sara Ali Khan, and John Abraham, who expressed their outrage over the Kolkata incident.
In other news, Kartik Aaryan has made headlines for leasing out his Juhu apartment in Mumbai. The property, which he co-owns with his mother, Mala Tiwari, covers approximately 1,912 square feet and is valued at Rs 17.5 crore. According to reports from Moneycontrol, Aaryan has rented out the apartment for ₹4.5 lakh per month, with the lease and license agreement registered on August 28. The apartment is situated in the Siddhi Vinayak Building, within the Presidency Co-operative Society of Juhu.
On the professional front, Aaryan is gearing up for his upcoming film Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, where he will star alongside Triptii Dimri, Vidya Balan, and Madhuri Dixit. The film is set to release during Diwali 2024. Additionally, the actor has Aashiqui 3 lined up in his future projects, further cementing his presence in the industry.
