For the last 21 years, Ghazal singer Pankaj Udhas has been doing a commendable job of raising funds for Thalassemic children and cancer patients through ‘The Khazana Ghazal Ka Festival’.
This program was presented online for the last two years because of covid. After the restrictions are lifted from this now Kovid, this event will be organized on 29th July and 30th July at 7 pm at Regal Room, Trident Hotel, Mumbai. As usual, whatever money will be collected from this program will be used for the treatment of cancer patients.
On this occasion, Pankaj Udhas remembered Bharat Ratna Late Lata Mangeshkar and said that on 6th February this year she went to the next world. His invaluable contribution to the world of music will never be forgotten. She may not be with us today, but her memories will always be with us. The artist passes away, but his works can never be forgotten. He has also contributed a lot to popularizing Ghazals through cinema. This year the festival is dedicated to Lata Mangeshkar.
Singer Bhupinder Singh was also remembered on this occasion. Pankaj Udhas says about the country’s famous singer Bhupinder Singh, who has sung songs like ‘Meri Awaaz Hi Meri Pehchaan Hai, Gar Yaad Rahe’, ‘ Bhupinder Singh was associated with this program from the first year, he had an elder brother and the Guardian. Has always encouraged us. This year we will miss Lata Mangeshkar and Bhupinder Singh a lot at this event. Her memories will always be with us.
Apart from Pankaj Udhas, Rekha Bhardwaj, Talat Aziz, Rahul Deshpande, Priyanka Barve, Pooja Gaitonde, Khazana R Aloud Talent Hunt winner, Surendra Kumar Rawal will participate on the first day of the festival. Sneha Astunkar and Himangi are the two newcomers who will be introduced on the first day of Khazana. On the second day, 30th July, Anoop Jalota, Hariharan, Vishal Bhardwaj, Sudip Banerjee, Pratibha Singh Baghel and Khazana ArtistAloud Talent Hunt winners will be presented.
