The long-standing feud between actor Govinda and his nephew Krushna Abhishek, which has made frequent headlines, appears to have come to a peaceful resolution. The two were recently seen together on The Kapil Sharma Show, marking a new chapter in their relationship. This reconciliation has brought joy not only to the family but also to Krushna’s wife, Kashmera Shah, who referred to it as the “best birthday gift” ever.
In an exclusive interview with Hindustan Times, Sunita Ahuja, Govinda’s wife, opened up about the discord that had strained their relationship with Krushna and his family over the years. When asked if she had forgiven Krushna, Sunita responded with a deep sigh, stating, “Mera Krushna se kuch bhi (naarazgi) nahi hai. Maine abhi tak usse baat nahi ki hai.” (“I have no issues with Krushna. I haven’t spoken to him yet.”) She further explained that although Krushna had visited their home when Govinda was injured, they had missed meeting due to timing issues. Despite this, she shared that she has a soft corner for him due to their long history together. “I have brought him up since his childhood so how long will one stay angry?” she said, although she clarified that forgiveness couldn’t come easily as neither Krushna nor his wife Kashmera had apologized directly to her. “Galti usne nahi kiya tha. Aur dono (Krushna and Kashmera) ne apologise nahi kiya, so how can I forgive?” (“He didn’t make a mistake. And neither Krushna nor Kashmera apologized, so how can I forgive?”)
The roots of the feud between Govinda and Krushna go back to Krushna’s jokes about Govinda’s on-screen roles, which led to a public fallout. The conflict escalated when Krushna accused Govinda of not visiting his children in the hospital, while Govinda labeled his nephew a liar. Over time, these issues became the subject of much media attention, deepening the divide between the two families.
However, things seem to have taken a positive turn with their reunion on The Kapil Sharma Show.
During the episode, Krushna invited Govinda to join him on stage, where the two danced together to Govinda’s hit song “Filmon Ke Saare Hero,” to the delight of the audience. The moment was emotional, with Krushna touching Govinda’s feet to seek his blessings before they embraced.
Kashmera Shah, on her birthday, shared a clip of the emotional moment on Instagram, expressing her happiness. She wrote, “Best birthday gift you gave me @krushna30 @govinda_herono1. Biggest wish has been granted. No complaints. Love you both.”
As the two put the past behind them, this reconciliation marks the beginning of a hopeful new chapter for the family.
