Actor Sanjay Gagnani married Poonam Preet in 2021; however, rumours circulated that the couple was thinking about divorcing. The rumours started when he posted a mysterious Instagram post, which he later removed. Gagnani breaks his silence on the subject for the first time by informing us that the rumours are untrue.

Sanjay spoke about his reaction to the divorce rumours. He elaborated on the feelings he went through and claimed that he went numb for a few hours. He was completely confused about how to react to the situation. She was worried about his wife.

Sharing his reaction to the rumours, the actor says, “When I first read about it, I was numb for a few hours because I didn’t know how to react. I love my wife, and I was only worried about how it would affect her. Thankfully, she is an actor herself, so she understands that such rumours are part and parcel of being a part of this industry. We just said, ‘We both know that we are with each other, and we love each other. So, we don’t care what the world has to say about us’, and then we started ignoring it all.”

The 35-year-old insists that people read too much into his post. He details how he reacted to the reports, saying he has consulted divorce lawyers.

“When I read that, I laughed out loud and immediately got back to my work. Me and Poonam are too strong to get affected by any of it. We are both actors, so she understands,” he says.

Poonam and Sanjay have been having marital problems for some time now, and they have chosen to end their marriage because of the problems that have reached a critical point.
