Kusha Kapila Reveals Media Pressure Behind Early Divorce Announcement: ‘Given 2 Days Deadline’

Fashion influencer and actress Kusha kapila Kapila recently opened up about the challenges surrounding her divorce from Zorawar Singh Ahluwalia. Speaking on the Moment of Silence podcast, Kusha disclosed that she was compelled to announce the split earlier than planned due to pressure from a media outlet.

“We had to give that news out because a news publication gave us a deadline,” Kusha shared during the podcast. “They said, ‘We are giving you two days to either confirm or deny it, and on the third day, we are going to carry the story.’ So, it was important for the news to come out from us.”

The influencer-turned-actress revealed that despite their efforts to keep the matter private, the separation news was likely leaked after someone spotted them at court. While acknowledging that the publication was doing its job, Kusha emphasized the importance of controlling the narrative to protect both parties involved.

Kusha and Zorawar announced their divorce on June 26, 2023, citing personal differences. In their joint statement, the couple reflected on their shared love and life together but admitted their aspirations no longer aligned. They expressed mutual respect for one another, even as they chose to part ways.

However, the announcement sparked intense online trolling, with Kusha facing accusations of prioritizing her career over her marriage. Despite the negativity, Zorawar defended her publicly, condemning the attacks on her character. “Calling her a villain is unacceptable,” he said, expressing disappointment over the toxic narrative.

The Sukhee actress emphasized that the separation was a mutual decision aimed at ensuring the well-being of both individuals. Despite the challenges, Kusha continues to focus on her career. She has appeared in Bollywood films such as Thank You For Coming, Sukhee, and Selfiee. She also starred in the Netflix reality series Social Currency.

Kusha’s candid revelations highlight the often-unseen pressures faced by public figures navigating personal milestones under the media’s gaze. For Kusha, the priority remains mutual respect and dignity, even amid public scrutiny.
