Social media sensation Moni Bhosle, who caught the attention of netizens during this year’s Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, is all set to make her Malayalam debut. Hailing from Indore in Madhya Pradesh, Monalisa had created a buzz for selling garlands at the Maha Kumbh site. Now, Monalisa herself took to her social media to share photos and videos from the pooja ceremony of her debut Malayalam film.

Let us tell you that the Malayalam film, titled ‘Nagamma’, stars Kailash in the lead role, best known for his performance in Neelathamara (2009). According to one of the media houses, the shooting of ‘Nagamma’, directed by P Binu Varghese and produced by Jilly George, is expected to begin by the end of September this year. This is Binu’s next film after ‘Himuchari’, which featured actor Shankar in the lead role.

The pooja ceremony of this upcoming film was held in Kochi in the presence of noted filmmaker Sibi Malayil, who is known for directing classics like Thaniyavarthanam (1987), Kireedam (1989), Dasaratham (1989), His Majesty Abdullah (1990), Bharatham (1991), Sadayam (1992), Kamaladalam (1992), and Chenkol (1993). During the Maha Kumbh, Monalisa had grabbed the attention of thousands of viewers and lakhs of internet users, and many shared her photos and videos on social media.

However, this sparked debates, and a section termed it as blatant objectification of a girl who had come to the shrine to earn a livelihood. Despite these debates, the matter escalated to such an extent that people thronged to see her in person and take selfies with her. Monalisa had come to Kerala to inaugurate a new Chemmanur Jewellers showroom in Kozhikode district. Upon hearing the news of her arrival, a huge crowd gathered outside the showroom where she had managed to reach. During the celebration, she also danced with Bobby, which made the people very happy.
