The Rupali Ganguly-starrer “Anupamaa” needs no introduction. Currently, it is one of the most watched daily soaps on television. The sitcom has grabbed the attention of the audience with its engaging content and has broken multiple stereotypes. The show also stars Rupali Ganguly, Gaurav Khanna, Sudhanshu Pandey, and others in pivotal roles.

Fans adore the chemistry between Rupali aka Anupamaa, and Gaurav aka Anuj, and fondly call them “MaAn.” However, according to today’s news, the makers have terminated their contract with Paras Kalnawat, who plays Samar in the show, for allegedly breaking her contract.

 

Reportedly, Paras has signed the dance-based reality show “Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa,” after which producer Rajan Shahi and Star Plus took action to terminate his contract for signing the new show on another channel without any prior notice. As per them, the team has always been in sync with the actors and never stopped them from taking up any other projects. Even with Paras, they had earlier adjusted his dates for other assignments as well.

Paras also spoke openly about this to the private media. The actor revealed that he chose “Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa” instead of “Anupamaa” for his development. He said, “Everything has been great with Anupama, but I haven’t seen my character develop. I have a lot of respect for Rajan Sir and the team and wish them all the best. At this stage of my career, I wanted to take up a new challenge.”

Also, I must add that, “I informed the production about my decision. However, due to the channel and contract terms, it was not possible for me to continue with Anupamaa after signing Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa.” Speaking of “Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa,” the show is coming back after a hiatus of five years, and Madhuri Dixit, Karan Johar, and Nora Fatehi have signed in as judges for the tenth season of the show.
