Malaika Arora Offers Advice To Married Women: ‘Hang On To Your Own Bank Account’

Malaika Arora, who recently launched a restaurant with her son Arhaan, has shared some thought-provoking advice for married women or those planning to marry. Known for living life on her own terms, the actress emphasized the importance of maintaining one’s identity and financial independence after marriage.

Speaking with Curly Tales, Malaika shared her perspective on the dynamics of marriage and individuality. She strongly believes that women should retain their personal identity, even after tying the knot. “Independent rakho baba. Jo tera hai voh tera hai, jo mera hai voh mera hai,” she said, urging women to keep their finances separate after marriage. “When you get married or you’re with someone, you try to fuse a situation where you want to make everything one. But I feel it’s very important to have your own identity,” she added.

Malaika, who has always been an advocate for self-sufficiency, further explained, “It’s good that you’re doing things together, but that doesn’t mean you give up your entire identity and take on someone else’s. As it is, you’re taking on somebody else’s last name, right? So I think the least you can do is hang on to your own bank account.”

Her comments reflect her belief in the importance of personal autonomy, even within the context of marriage.

Malaika’s love life has been in the spotlight recently, especially after Arjun Kapoor confirmed his single status earlier this year. Following his announcement, Malaika posted cryptic messages on her Instagram stories, which led to increased media attention. At a Diwali party hosted by Raj Thackeray in Mumbai last month, Arjun confirmed his relationship status, saying, “Nahin ab main single hoon, relax karo” (No, I am now single. Relax). The media moment quickly went viral.

Despite their separation, Arjun Kapoor has continued to support Malaika during difficult times, including after the tragic death of her father in September. Arjun was seen consoling his ex-girlfriend and spending time with her family, showing his unwavering support during the emotional period.

Malaika’s advice on maintaining one’s identity and financial autonomy highlights her belief in empowering women to stay true to themselves, regardless of their marital status.
