Mani Ratnam-Vikram Get Court Notice For Allegedly ‘Misrepresenting Cholas’ In Ponniyin Selvan

A lawyer serves legal notice on director Mani Ratnam and actor Vikram, arguing that Ponniyin Selvan: 1 appears to falsify the history of the Cholas. Fans’ anticipation has increased for the drama, a lavish production under the supervision of renowned director Mani Ratnam, as a result of the trailer of the movie that was published a few days ago. The legal notice claimed that “Ponniyin Selvan” had neglected to include any historical information about the Cholas. The film, which is based on the well-known book “Ponniyin Selvan” by author “Amarar Kalki,” is a beautiful recounting of the history of the Chola kings who controlled Thanjavur (a district in Tamil Nadu).

Even though Ratnam has long wanted to make this movie, sources claim that many have given up trying to do it. Additionally, lawyer Selvam from Korukkupetta in Chennai claimed that the historical details in “Ponniyin Selvan” were omitted because Cholas don’t have “Naamam” (a vertical traditional mark applied to the forehead), even though actor Vikram, who is portraying “Adithya Karikalan” in the movie, was spotted with the mark on his forehead.

In a similar vein, the lawyer requested a special screening for him before the movie’s theatrical debut to assess whether the historical details had been omitted. Furthermore, if the movie is released without giving them a chance to see it beforehand, the lawyer’s warning threatens legal action. Along with director Mani Ratnam, the warning has also been sent to notable actors including Vikram and the movie’s producer Subaskaran.

This lavish historical drama has performances by Vikram, Trisha, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Jayam Ravi, Karthi, Sarathkumar, Sobitha, Prabhu, Vikram Prabhu, Prakash Raj, Jayaram, Parthiban, and others. The recently released teaser for the movie has received positive feedback from viewers. The first of two parts of “Ponniyin Selvan” will be released on September 30 in five different languages, and actor Vikram has had his character voiced in all five of those languages. Finally, the creators just made a video that explains the history of the Cholas.
