Manit Joura On Losing Two Flats In Noida’s Twin Tower, “It Was Painful, Didn’t Even See The Video”

The recent demolition of the Twin tower in Noida has become a hot topic among everyone. The latest to shed light on it is TV actress Shraddha Arya. The Kundali Bhagya fame star recently shared a video where she revealed that her co-star on the show, Manit Joura who portrays the role of Rishabh, had invested a huge amount in the buildings which have been brought down by the authorities on August 28.

After this news came out, a leading portal got into a conversation with Manit to know more about his thoughts on the same. Calling his experience with the builders a nightmare, the Naagin 6 actor said that his father had bought two flats in the twin towers, one in 2011, and another in 2013. The builders kept the issues regarding the construction under wraps. It was eight years ago that the buyers decided to file a case against the company.

He shared, “My father had to visit court all these years and I would feel really bad that he had to go through a lot at this age. My father had dreamt of having a nice place in a good location, but that didn’t happen. The Supreme Court gave a judgement that the builders will have to pay the buyers the interest on the amount given to them. However, they paid us the interest amount for just a few months, and that’s when we filed another case. After that, they started paying us in small amounts for some time, which didn’t help because what we had paid for the property was a hefty amount.”

Joura further added, “There was a lot of back and forth in this case, and it was a nightmare for my family and me, and I’m sure for other buyers too. I have seen my father sitting in court with the hope that the judgement will be in our favour. But I am happy with the decision of the Supreme Court.”

On being asked about how he felt when the towers were getting demolished, Manit stated, “It was painful. I didn’t even see the video of the demolition and didn’t speak to my parents about it.”

For the unknown, India’s tallest buildings, the Apex and Ceyane Towers, together referred to as the Noida Supertech Twin Towers, were demolished after the Supreme Court declared their construction as ‘illegal’.  The builders had violated a set of rules, building regulations, and fire safety norms. The 32-storey and 29-storey buildings were brought to ground zero in 9 seconds using a controlled explosion. The explosives cost around Rs 20 crore.
