Although the film is not doing anything special as compared to other films of the actor but Manoj Bajpayee remains in the news headlines due to his strong and influential acting skills. When the actor was asked in an interview if he regrets rejecting any film in his entire career? On this, the actor said that he has not rejected any film which has done very well commercially, except Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s film ‘Devdas’.

The actor told that he wanted to play the role of Devdas in this film of Bhansali, which was given to Shahrukh Khan. Let us tell you that the actor wanted to play the role of Devdas since his theater days but couldn’t do so.

In an interview given on YouTube, when Manoj Bajpayee was asked if he has ever rejected a film which has become a big hit. He clearly said no, there is no such film till date. The actor further said, ‘Yes, I was offered Jackie Shroff’s role in Devdas, but I immediately refused it. I told Sanjay, “Sanjay, yaar, I always wanted to do Devdas. That film became a superhit, but I regret leaving it. I wanted to play the role of Devdas since my theatre days. But I never felt bad about it.’

During the promotion of ‘Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar’, Shekhar Suman also shared that he was offered to play the role of Chunni Lal in Devdas, but due to his busy schedule, he could not do this role. ‘Devdas’ proved to be a milestone in the career of Shahrukh Khan, Aishwarya Rai and Madhuri Dixit.
