In an interaction with Twinkle Khanna for Tweak India, the fashion entreprenur disclosed that that she wanted to live in with her ex-hubby, Madhu before their wedding. However, her mother didn’t allow her to do that. Instead she encouraged her to get married. Neena packed Masaba’s things and sent her for the court marriage with Madhu.
The designer shared what her mother told her when she expressed her wish to live-in before her first marriage with Madhu. She stated, ‘My mon said that she has made this mistake and she will not let me repeat the same. If I am sure about it, I should just get married.’
Further in the conversation, Masaba mentioned that initially Neena was very conservative. However, when her daughter’s first marriage ended, she felt devastated and blamed herself for her Masaba’s divorce. The ‘House Of Masaba’ owner said, “She was very conservative in that phase of my life. She didn’t want me to go through what she went through. She said, ‘I think its my fault and I should have let you do what you were doing, live together and you would have figured things out. I am a bad mother.'”
