The Pacific Palisades home where actor Matthew Perry was found dead last year has been sold to real estate developer and film producer Anita Verma-Lallian for $8.55 million (approximately Rs 72.04 crore). The off-market deal was finalized earlier this month, just in time for Diwali, when Verma-Lallian shared her excitement about the purchase on Instagram, paying tribute to Perry’s life and legacy.
Anita Verma-Lallian, who has Indian roots, posted a series of photos and videos on her Instagram from the house, where she held a traditional Hindu puja by the pool, with a priest presiding. She captioned the post: “We are so excited to share that we bought a home in Los Angeles earlier this month!” The real estate developer and film producer added, “The moment I walked into the home, I absolutely fell in love with the features, especially the view of the Pacific Ocean. We knew it was ‘the one’ and decided to make an offer immediately.”

Verma-Lallian, who is the owner of Camelback Productions, a company focused on South Asian storytelling, expressed her plans to keep some of the changes made by Perry while also adding her own touches to personalise the home. “We chose to honour the positive aspects of the previous owner’s life, his immense talent, and the joy he brought to so many people,” she shared. “The decision to purchase the home had nothing to do with the previous owner, just our love of the home. We do plan to keep some of the design elements. The Batman logo in the pool is definitely staying.”
She further described the house as “a piece of paradise,” adding that it would serve as a perfect vacation home for her family. “Can’t wait to make new memories in it,” she concluded.
Matthew Perry, best known for playing Chandler Bing on the beloved sitcom Friends, purchased the property in 2020 for $6 million (Rs 50.5 crore). The 3,500-square-foot, mid-century home sits on a half-acre plot with sprawling views of the Pacific Ocean. Perry had made significant upgrades to the house, including the addition of a swimming pool and hot tub, where he was found unresponsive in October 2023. The property features four bedrooms, four-and-a-half baths, a living room, a dining room, a wine wall, and minimalist white-and-grey kitchen cabinetry. Its outdoor areas include a fire pit, multiple covered patios, and glass slide-away walls leading to the backyard.
In addition to this Pacific Palisades home, Perry owned several other properties, including a Malibu beach house and a penthouse in LA, which was later purchased by singer Rihanna for $21 million.
Anita Verma-Lallian’s purchase marks a new chapter for the home, as she plans to honour Perry’s legacy while making it her own.
