Bollywood actress Janhvi Kapoor comes from a family of stars. Her late mother Sridevi ruled the cinema in 80s, her father Boney Kapoor is a renowned producer and her uncle Anil Kapoor is still doing wonders in the acting industry. However, even after having such a reputed name, Janhavi is hungry to earn respect on her own. In a recent interview, she opened up on getting multiple work opportunities but not enough respect.
Talking to Barkha Dutt, Janhvi said that she has several projects in her hand but what she actually desires for is still due. She told that she has more to offer than just be inconsequential in a film. She wants to prove herself that she can take up new challenges and sail through them. Janhvi stated, “Somewhere it comes down to the line that Mujhe mauke bohot mile hai, par izzat abhi tak nahi mila and…I think that’s what I am working for, in my own eyes. It takes a lot to build the perception and then break it.”
Speaking about her mother’s death, Janhvi shared that when she lost her mom, it was this huge tragedy. It was a horrible feeling that because of my privilege and being told my entire life that I have got things so easy. As a young girl, I started seeking validation from audience. But not everyone is in the world is going to love you like they are your mother.”
