At present, the wave of corona infection seems to be stopping in the country, a month ago where more than three lakh cases were being reported daily, it has now come down to close to 1.25 lakh daily. Meanwhile, experts have cautioned people about post-covid problems. The diseases and health complications that occur in people who have recovered from corona are known as post covid. Heart, lung, and neurological disorders are being confirmed in many people as post covid.

Erectile Dysfunction

Amidst the increasing cases of post covid, a question is troubling people – “Can men also have problems of impotence due to covid-19?” In a recent study, experts have explained this in detail. In a study conducted in March this year, experts explained the problems in sex life due to Covid and in some cases the problem of erectile dysfunction (impotence). In the study published in the journal Andrology, experts said that the coronavirus can damage the heart (cardiovascular system) of men, due to which there is an increased risk of problems related to erection during sex.

Experts in the study said that when Covid-19 affects the cardiovascular system, it causes narrowing of blood vessels, which can lead to erection problems in men. In vascular conditions caused by viruses, the blood supply to the penis gets affected, which can lead to erectile dysfunction in men. This study was done on two men who had recovered from Corona in Italy.

In the study, scientists found that COVID-19 infection alone is not responsible for causing erectile dysfunction in men. In many cases, this problem can also be due to mental health effects such as epidemic-related stress, anxiety, feelings of loneliness.

Dysfunctional Issues

Dr. Satyakant Trivedi explains that due to mental health problems like stress, nervousness, and depression, men can have problems with erections. The mind needs to be stable and calm in the process of sex. Due to such mental problems, there can be problems like total time of intercourse and decrease in desire for sex, and erectile dysfunction.

According to health experts, lifestyle changes can help in managing erectile dysfunction. Dr. Satyakant tells that it is necessary to have a positive mindset at the time of intercourse. People who are having problems related to erectile dysfunction after Covid-19 should visit a specialist doctor to understand the cause of the problem. Do not fall into the trap of unauthorized medical practices, it can cause more damage. If this problem is happening due to mental diseases, then instead of sex treatment, there is a need to cure mental diseases. Taking information from YouTube and finding the cure on your own can be a big mistake.
