Mika Singh Seeks Quashing Of A 17-Year-Old Case Lodged By Rakhi Sawant For Forcibly Kissing Her!

Singer Mika Singh has moved the Bombay High Court seeking to quash a 17-year-old case lodged against him by actor Rakhi Sawant for allegedly forcibly kissing her.

Claiming issue is resolved

Singer Mika Singh has recently approached the Bombay High Court, seeking to dismiss a 17-year-old case lodged against him by actor Rakhi Sawant, for allegedly forcibly kissing her. The singer’s petition claimed that the case could be quashed as both parties have resolved their issue amicably. However, Sawant’s affidavit consenting to quash the FIR was misplaced in the registry department, and hence the bench directed her to submit a fresh affidavit next week.

Updates on case

Singh’s advocate stated that the case has been lying in limbo for 17 years, with charges yet to be framed, and that the FIR could be quashed with the consent of the complainant. The High Court bench will hear the plea again next week.

Singh was booked for allegedly assaulting and kissing Sawant without her consent during his birthday party at a restaurant in Mumbai in 2006. After the incident, Singh went missing for a few days, and he was later granted anticipatory bail in the case by a sessions court.

Rakhi Sawant is a well-known Indian dancer, model, actress, and television talk show host, who has appeared in various Hindi and regional films. She was a contestant on the first season of the Indian reality television series Bigg Boss in 2006 and a finalist in Bigg Boss 14 in 2020. Singh, on the other hand, is a famous Indian singer, composer, music director, and music producer, with numerous hit songs to his credit.

Despite the long-drawn-out case, both parties have now decided to resolve their differences amicably. As the legal process plays out, the public awaits the final decision of the Bombay High Court on the case.
