Mithali Raj and Gujarat have parted way just ahead of the 2025 Women’s Premier league ( WPL) auction. Mithali has served as the mentor and advisor for the franchise but now she has shifted her focus a new role with the Andhra cricket Association. Mithali Raj is one of biggest names in the women cricket therefore she will add a great value to the team she connects with.
Mithali Raj has signed a three year contract with Gujarat Franchise but her association sadly ended after 2 years. During her tenure the franchise struggled to make any impact. Franchise finished last in the league for 2 years which is very demoralizing for the mentor. Therefore franchise had enough in those years which made lead to the termination of her contract. Despite the fiasco Mithali Raj’s influence in women, cricket remains strong through her involvement with Andhra Pradesh cricket.
Head coach Michael Klinger and fielding coach Carl Hopkinson will remain in place despite these changes, however. Who will maintain stability as the company restructures, their presence should continue. The expectation is that they keep them on board to maintain continuity in what is a transformational time for the franchise. Two disappointing seasons in a row have led the Gujarat Giants to reorganize. Now the team has moved on to building a competitive squad that can go toe to toe with the best in what promises to be a fierce battle with the WPL auctions fast approaching. Mithali Raj and Nooshin Al Khadeer’s leaving bids out from the exits of prominent figures for the franchise, though, brings to a close one era for the franchise, but they also usher in new, as yet untapped possibilities. The Gujarat Giants will be looking ahead to the upcoming auctions and announcements and now wish to reshape their future and become serious contenders in the league.
