Actress Mona Singh recently completed her 20 years in the Bollywood industry. Her breakthrough performance came in Jassi Jaisi Koi Nahin. After that, she did not look back as she went on to star in a number of popular television series and notable films, including 3 Idiots.
Although the actress prefers to avoid being photographed by cameras, she has spoken out against other actresses who are being followed around by photographers.
Focusing on women’s bodies
Mona Singh heavily criticised Paparazzi’s sexiest approach to capturing female actors. They focus on actresses bodies inappropriately. They zoom into their crotch.
While talking to News18, Mona Singh said, “They keep focusing on women’s bodies inappropriately. Will they do this to a man by zooming into their crotch when they’re walking? No, they won’t. But they do that to every woman.”
Mona further slammed the paparazzi for anticipating the wardrobe malfunction.
“Not Cool”
Mona Singh also asserted that every woman actress needs to raise her voice and stand up against these actions. Its simply not cool. Its like they are waiting for any wardrobe slip to happen.
Mona continued, “Whether you attend an event or go to an award function, these are the kinds of videos you keep seeing of yourself. I think every woman actor should stand up and raise their voice against it. It’s really not cool what they do. It’s almost like they wait for some faux pas to happen.”
Recently, many female actors, including Mrunal Thakur, Palak Tiwari, and Janhvi Kapoor, among others, have criticised Paparazzi for being intrusive and zooming in on their bodies without consent.
